To borrow items from the libraries, you will need to present your student ID card.

The maximum number of loans is 60 items (including a maximum of 10 journals).
Libary materials can be borrowed free of charge.

Loan periods

• text books and other monographs: 28 days.
• journals: 7 days
• short-term loan (all reference collections): overnight and on weekends possible. Items have to be returned no later then one hour after opening of the libraries. No renewals possible.

Renewals

You may renew your items up to seven times (books) resp. three times (journals) online using your library account, unless a hold has been placed by another user or there is a block on your library account (including expired ID cards).
In case of technical or other problems, please contact the library staff.
Please note: there are no automatic renewals!

If the lending period is exceeded, the user will receive a reminder.
Charges are automatically booked to your user account and do not depend on when you receive the overdue notice!

Please note:
The first reminder is always sent by e-mail.
Due to the automatic data exchange between the student's secretary and the library, the library always uses your HfWU e-mail account for correspondence.
If you only want to use and check another e-mail account, it is important to forward the HfWU mails to this account.

The overdue fees per item amount to

1,50 € for the 1st reminder
5,00 € for the 2nd reminder
10,00 € for the 3rd reminder

3,00 € per opening day for reference collection.

How to order books and articles:

You can submit your interlibrary loan requests online via BOSS (choose "ILL Books" to borrow books or "ILL Articles" to order journal articles).

You can order books, articles etc. which are not in stock in the libraries at Nürtingen or Geislingen. If items are on loan at the moment or for recerence only it is nevertheless not possible to order them via interlibrary loan.

Fees:

Every interlibrary loan is charged with 1,50 €.
Your library account will be debited automatically with this charge.
It is a processing fee, which is not reimbursed in case the item is not (yet) available.

Delivery period:

Usually it takes 7-14 days until the library item arrives in our library (in some difficult cases it might take longer).
After the arrival of your request you'll be notified by e-mail (we always use the HfWU account, see also "Overdue fees").
