NÜRTINGEN (hfwu). This year's German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) prize at Nürtingen-Geislingen University (HfWU) goes to Italian student Amelia Cecchini. She is a double-degree student on the Master's degree course in International Finance at HfWU and the Master's degree course in Banca, Finanza Aziendale e Mercati Finanziari at the University of Pisa.
Cecchini was awarded the prize due to her outstanding academic achievements and her social commitment at HfWU. In her thesis, the Master's student analyzed transactions in the context of mergers and acquisitions in the pharmaceutical sector before and after the COVID pandemic. Since 2022, she has been studying in the joint double degree program of the HfWU and the Università Pisa.
Outside of the study programme, Cecchini has been involved in organizing international cultural events at HfWU, among other things. Together with other fellow students, she also supports the organization of the double degree between the two universities. In her home town of Pietrasanta, Cecchini joined an initiative to support Ukrainian citizens after the start of the Russian war of aggression and helped to buy everyday necessities and send them to Ukraine.
